How Starff meets its legal, regulatory and ethical obligations as a recruitment agency.
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Starff aligns its practices with the standards of the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and the GLAA (Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority), and will hold any GLAA licence required for the sectors we supply. We operate in line with the relevant Conduct Regulations for the private recruitment industry.
Every worker completes right-to-work and identity verification before their first placement, in line with UK immigration law. We retain the required records for the statutory period.
Role-relevant certifications — such as CSCS cards, SIA licences and driving entitlements — are checked and recorded before a worker is placed in a role that requires them.
We are committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain. We monitor for indicators of exploitation and act on any concerns raised.
We recruit and place workers on the basis of suitability for the role, and do not discriminate on any protected characteristic. Equal treatment applies throughout registration, placement and pay.
Personal and compliance data is handled in line with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy, with encrypted storage and role-restricted access.
To raise a compliance or safeguarding concern, contact us at hello@starff.co.uk. Concerns are handled confidentially.
